ANNOUNCING WISCONSIN CRAFT

We are very excited to share with our members and friends the creation of Wisconsin Craft, a new non-profit organization to engage and educate fine craft makers and the community across this state.

The goal of the newly incorporated Wisconsin Craft (WI Craft) is to build a statewide networking organization that enhances the cultural life of Wisconsin and surrounding regions by encouraging, developing, and supporting traditional and contemporary craft and craft makers.

We are excited for this next phase in our Wisconsin history and would love to have you involved in forming this new organization.

Here are the current plans and timeline for WI Craft:

Spring and Summer -  Members switch to WI Craft, new website, social media, Board of Directors/Committees formed, and public launch at the Morning Glory!

Fall - MKE Fine Craft Studio Tour, new programming, and more!

What will happen to your WDCC membership?

Your membership will transfer automatically to Wisconsin Craft.  You will not need to re-enroll, pay fees, etc.   We will keep you informed of the timing.

What will happen to WDCC?

We have a proud 100 year old tradition which has evolved from the original Wisconsin Society of Applied Arts 1916-1936 to Wisconsin Designer Craftsman 1937-1981 to Wisconsin Designer Crafts Council 1982-2021.   The current Board is working on closing the present WDCC organization by the end of the fiscal year.

Please feel free to reach out to us with your ideas!!

And stay tuned for more information about Wisconsin Craft.

Thank you for your support.
