The Morning Glory Art Fair, a popular outdoor summer event, returns this August for its 46th season. The annual art fair will take place Saturday and Sunday, Aug 14-15, on the plaza in front of Fiserv Forum.
Based on CDC and Milwaukee Health Department guidelines at the time, the art fair will implement appropriate COVID safety protocols.
Morning Glory features art in 12 categories, including ceramics, digital art, jewelry, photography and sculpture. The nationally-recognized event showcases fine craft and art from 130 artists from around the country. Each artist is individually juried into the fair, based on a committee review of their portfolio. Thus, the stringent review process ensures the highest level of fine craft and art are presented.
“We’re excited to bring Morning Glory back in 2021 and present a beloved event that so many look forward to each year,” said Jean Wells, President of the Wisconsin Designer Crafts Council. “The WDCC was created in 1916 with the purpose of supporting and promoting artists who are dedicated to excelling in their craft. The cancellation of art shows and fairs last year, coupled with the closure of boutiques and small shops, hit artists hard so we’re pleased we can host a two-day event that showcases their work.”
Morning Glory is free and open to the public and regularly draws 12,000 attendees. The show moved to the plaza in front of Fiserv Forum in 2019. The Morning Glory Art Fair is hosted by the Wisconsin Designer Crafts Council (WDCC), one of the oldest fine craft organizations in the country.
